Students receive a Certificate in Interior Custom Design once they complete the Fundamentals of Interior Design Certification. In this program, students develop a competitive portfolio and expansive knowledge base which empowers them to work in the Interior Design industry. Projects include the full design and presentation of two residential spaces, including an entire home as the final project. Additional client-specific and concept-based activities are incorporated throughout the course to enforce learning and presentation skills. This program puts equal focus toward core design knowledge, design expression and business practices that together enable students to become successful industry professionals.
Students receive a Professional Certificate in Interior Custom Design once they complete the Master Certification Program. This program combines the Fundamentals of Interior Design Program with a series of required courses that provide students with a comprehensive, business-minded interior design education. The certificate is granted through the Seattle Heritage School of Interior Design location. The Master Certification Program requires completion of the following courses:
Please note: The certificates for virtual programs at Heritage are conferred by the Washington Workforce Training & Education Coordinating Board. Each state may have different requirements based on their educational regulating bodies and requirements for state licensure. If you are pursuing a virtual certification through Heritage, we highly recommend checking with the state in which you intend to work as a designer to determine if the virtual certification will be recognized by the regulating body or prospective employers in that state as there may be limitations.
Individual courses may also be taken by students not enrolled in the Master Certification Program, and by industry professionals with relevant design education or work experience. Read more about all of our courses on the Course Descriptions tab.
