Heritage School of Interior Design provides aspiring designers the opportunity to cultivate their talents through hands-on learning programs. Students transform their passion into an extraordinary design portfolio and an industry network in as little as six months. We foster a learning environment to develop students’ confidence as they apply the knowledge and skills necessary to professionally succeed in the interior design industry. 6 months, or 2 terms is the minimum for the Master Certification Program. Upon beginning the Fundamentals program, students may take up to 2 years to complete all of the courses required for the Masters Certification Program.
It varies greatly by the role, its commission structure, years of relatable experience and whether you are employed in a company or in business for yourself. According to data from PayScale.com, the average income for an interior designer is $35,000 – 69,000 per year.
Our learning programs at Heritage do not offer eligible credits toward the NCIDQ exam. We are weighing the benefits of becoming federally accredited, which would allow credits from our learning programs to be applied toward the NCIDQ exam. There is an Alternative Review Program through NCIDQ for candidates who are unable to traditionally document the minimum educational requirement for exam eligibility if this certification is important to you. You can find more information at this site: www.cidq.org/alternative-review-program
We have a diverse student body with ages ranging from 18 – 75! The majority of our students are pursuing their second or third career change – transitioning to Interior Design from a variety of backgrounds. Other cohorts of students include those attending directly after high school and those in their mid-20’s who have completed a two or four-year degree and are now pivoting their career focus and supplementing their higher education with an interior design-centric education. All of our students are creative, passionate individuals who are eager to learn, apply themselves and get working in the industry!
