Patty Buckley, a current Heritage Denver student, moved to Denver originally to escape the cold, dreary winters of her hometown, Madison WI.  She found herself in a city and state that embodied her love of the outdoors, as well as one which could nourish and inspire her creative side.  

Despite Patty’s never-ending love for the arts, it was not until she moved to Denver and enrolled in the Art Students League of Denver (ASLD), that she finally gained the confidence to begin developing her creative skills. Through her schooling at ASLD, Patty not only realized that art is something she can do, but she discovered it was an endeavor in which she excelled.  She had always wanted to be an Interior Designer, and it was with her newfound skills and confidence that she finally pursued this dream.  

Patty spent the majority of her career working in various financial services compliance roles.  Although her career supported her financially, it left something to be desired for her interests and passions.  When her position was eliminatedas a result of an acquisition, it created the perfect opportunity for her to reflect on how this next chapter in her career could lead her into a position that fulfilled her growing skills in art and design.  Patty spent time researching different options and opportunities within Denver, but it was the possibility of attending Heritage that finally provided her answer.  She felt energized and excited that Heritage could offer an accelerated education that would provide her with the knowledge needed to successfully pursue a career in the Interior Design industry.  

Patty is well into her first term at Heritage and is loving the program.  She sums up her experience as,

“Everyday is a whole new journey learning about Interior Design, which I just love.”  

Not only has she enjoyed learning about Interior Design, but she is also inspired and excited by the abundant opportunities for entrepreneurial women within the industry!  She is eager to learn more about the many opportunities out there for interior designers.  Patty is also excited about a unique opportunity to work with her brother-in-law who owns a vacation rental business and who very much wants to offer his many clients interior design services.  We all have a feeling that she will be the perfect Designer for the job!
