COURSE OVERVIEW

This 6-week intensive course will provide students with the basic InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop skills that can be used to create professional visual presentations. Students will learn how to create detailed presentation boards with graphics, photos of rooms, floor plans and examples of materials that will help them professionally convey their design ideas to clients. They will also learn how to modify and transform images by changing the color, lighting, and size of photos that can be used to build their portfolio.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Use InDesign to create notebooks and presentation boards
  • Use Illustrator to create design layouts and marketing
  • Use Photoshop to manipulate and touch-up photos

REQUIRED TEXT AND MATERIALS

  • Laptop and 2 button mouse with middle scroll
  • Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign software
  • Powerpoint slides for each lecture may be provided

Week 4 – Raster vs Vector Image Files

  • Photoshop Basics
  • Photo Editing and Manipulation

Week 5 – Photoshop Review

  • Photo Manipulation Continued
  • Rendering in Photoshop
