Maira Garcia was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to Portland, Oregon when she was 11 years old. She was raised by a single mother who was passionate and ambitious which is what inspired Maira to pursue her dreams. Maira always had an eye for design but it wasn’t until college that she started to cultivate an interest in Interior Design. After college, she was ready to pursue a career in Interior Design and was referred to Heritage by a friend. “I was blown away by the values of Heritage so I decided to enroll and I haven’t looked back!”

With a background in Art and Graphic Design, Interior Design came naturally to her. Maira was a dedicated student and was proud to be at the top of her class. Within six months of completing the Masters Program at Heritage, she was offered her dream job as a junior designer at Restoration Hardware on NW 23rd in Portland. Because of her experience at Heritage and internship at Parker Furniture, she was able to start at a higher level position. “I’m in love with my new job at Restoration Hardware. My goal is to grow within the company and start my own design firm in the future.”
