Kara Gordon is the Co-Owner, along with her business partner Amanda McCurdy, of the prestigious design-build firm Sleek to Chic Interiors & Renovation Group. Their team specializes in custom residential renovations, along with all other aspects of design, from commercial specification to furniture and decor. As one of Fort Worth’s most highly acclaimed interior designers, Kara Gordon has created functional & beautiful spaces for a variety of residential and commercial clients since starting her company in January 2013. Her reputation for being able to meet clients where they are with regards to their knowledge of interior design has earned her the distinction of being “the one to go to” for homeowners who are newer to interior design and don’t quite know what potential their space might have. Kara has been awarded National First Place awards for multiple renovation projects, named one of the Top 15 Designers in Fort Worth by builddirect.com, and awarded Best Visual Presentation by Dallas Market Center. She has also won Best of Houzz for ten years in a row. Her work has been featured in several publications and blogs including “Apartment Therapy,” “Kufri Life Designer Spotlight,” and Stephen F. Austin’s Alumni magazine “Sawdust.” In 2017, her firm was featured on CNBC’s “Billion Dollar Buyer” and in Texas Lifestyle Magazine. She received her bachelor's degree in interior design, with a minor in business, from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2000. When Kara is not working or teaching, she enjoys time and hobbies with her family and friends. Her hobbies include cooking, music, kickball, reading, and watercolor painting, along with anything related to nature such as hiking, camping and fishing! Her favorite people to do these activities with are her life partner and her son, Jake. Life is good when you get to do what you love, with the people you love, day in and day out!
