Joshua Emery brings a unique blend of financial, entrepreneurial, counseling, and executive leadership experience to his role as a Business and Entrepreneurship Instructor at Heritage School of Interior Design.
Joshua earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder and began his professional career with Merrill Lynch. After several years in the financial industry, he transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding and operating his own residential construction company. This experience gave him firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges of building and leading a business.
Joshua later earned his M.A. in Counseling from Denver Seminary and went on to establish a private counseling practice, where he worked with individuals as well as business owners. His experience as a psychotherapist provided a valuable understanding of the human dynamics that influence leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational health.
In 2020, Joshua expanded his work into business coaching. Today, he works with business owners, CEOs, executive directors, and leadership teams to strengthen organizational health and performance. His work focuses on individual accountability, effective communication, leadership development, and alignment around an organization’s goals, vision, and direction.
Joshua has led seminars on becoming a healthy business owner and facilitated workshops focused on effective communication and team dynamics. He is passionate about helping entrepreneurs not only build successful businesses, but also develop the leadership skills, clarity, and organizational foundation necessary to sustain that success.
As an instructor, Joshua brings a practical, real-world perspective to entrepreneurship, helping students understand the business side of building a creative practice and equipping them with tools they can apply throughout their careers.
