Jamie McConnell is a Kitchen Designer with two decades of experience specializing in residential kitchen remodeling. As an instructor of Fundamentals of Interior Design, she brings a real-world, function-first perspective to the classroom, emphasizing how design decisions translate from concept to construction.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design, earned in Chicago, where studying the city’s architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright’s work, and world-class museums helped shape her approach to design as both an art and a science—rooted in function, feeling, and finishes. She is an active member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), staying closely connected to current industry standards and best practices.
Jamie’s goal is for students to leave her class feeling confident, grounded, and industry-ready, with a clear understanding of how foundational design principles apply in real projects and professional practice.
