Business and Entrepreneurship is part one of a 6-week course that introduces students to the foundations of building and managing an independent interior design business. Students clarify their personal and professional “why,” purpose, vision, mission, and values while gaining a practical understanding of the financial, legal, and operational considerations of professional practice. Topics include business structures, contracts and documentation, basic accounting, budgeting, and the selection of business software to support project management and operations. Students also develop a comprehensive strategic plan that integrates structural, marketing, financial, and operational elements. By the end of the course, students will have a clear roadmap for launching or strengthening their design business.
