Peter is a designer, educator and craftsperson with over 25 years of professional industrial, architectural and interior design experience. Growing up in Delaware and exposed to both his mother’s flower shop as well as his father’s home improvement center, his love for design and craft is in his DNA.
Peter started his professional teaching career in 2000 with the opening of the Art Center College of Design SF campus where he taught Furniture Design and Fabrication. Additionally, he has held positions at Rhode Island School of Design Department of Industrial Design, the Boston Architectural Center, Bellevue College Department of Interior Design as well as guest lecturing at SPU and UW.
He runs multi-disciplined design studio, Five Ply Design, primarily focusing on architectural and interior design commissions, product, and hand-crafted furniture and custom fixtures. His work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Interior Design Magazine, Dwell and Seattle Magazine with product placement in stores across the country including the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Museum of Arts and Design and the Smithsonian collections.
When not in the studio, you will most likely find Peter out racing bicycles on the road or in the mud, rebuilding his house or out and about searching for the best gin cocktail in Seattle.
